Install problem: missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

We installed the program without any trouble once. However when we went to run the software- hit the play button we received the following error:  "The program can't start because api-ms-crt-runtime-[1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this program."
I tried removing & reinstalling twice- it hangs at installing vc++2015 redistributables.
Do you have any ideas on how to get this working?

It seems a misconfiguration of the pc not having all latest updates from Microsoft.

You should first install all the Windows Updates.

Then if it is not solved yet, please look here for a possible solution.
